Merry Lee Nordin-Schuldt

Merry Lee Nordin-Schuldt, age 59, of Huron, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at the Dougherty Hospice House at Sioux Falls.  Her memorial service was 11:00 AM, Monday, July 21st at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with Revs. Rick and Becky Senner officiating.  Interment of her cremated remains was 6:00 PM, July 21st at the Woodland Hills Memorial Park at Mankato, Minnesota.  Memorials may be directed to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

 Merry Lee Margaret Nordin was born October 21, 1948, to C. Harold and Mary (Malkovich) Nordin at Hibbing, Minnesota.

On July 28, 1979, Merry Lee married William F. Schuldt at Winona, Minnesota.

Merry Lee taught elementary school at Winona for ten years.  Bill and Merry Lee moved to Mankato where she worked as a financial case worker for Blue Earth County Human Services.  In 1988, they moved to Huron where she taught art, crafts and reading recovery for the Huron Public School System.

Merry Lee was a member of the Beadle County Risk and Resource Team until her health issues prevented her participation.  She especially enjoyed working on dinner theatres and the Festival for Artistic Expression.  Merry Lee was also a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and participated as church council secretary.

She tremendously enjoyed spring and fall at Long Lake, north of Fergus Falls, Minnesota.  Another favorite pastime was making baskets while enjoying the lake environment.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Bill of Huron; her mother, Mary Nordin of Duluth, Minnesota; her brother and his wife, Harold and Patricia Nordin of Duluth, Minnesota; her mother-in-law, Frances Schuldt of Winona, Minnesota; her sister-in-law and her husband, Chris and John Kelley of Golden, Colorado; five nieces and nephews, Jeff Kelley, Casey Smith, Erin Kelley and Kimberly and Gregory Nordin; other relatives and friends; and her dog, Reggie.
