Mavis Burright

Mavis Burright, age 67, of Iroquois, died Friday, January 21, 2011, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home in Huron.  Her funeral service was at 7:00 PM, Thursday, January 27th, at the Kuhler Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Drew officiating.  Burial was Friday in St. Paul Cemetery, Iroquois. 

Mavis Elaine Burright was born July 31, 1943, to Rudy and Betty (Kuk) Gleich at Scotland, South Dakota.  The family moved to Huron, where she attended school and graduated from Huron High School in 1961.  Mavis was confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church, Huron.

In November 1962, Mavis married Dennis Wochnick in Minnesota.  They later moved to Washington state where she raised her five daughters.  Mavis moved back to Huron in 1982 and then later to Iroquois where she resided with her fiancÚ Conrad Wutsch on his family farm.

She enjoyed gardening, crafting, shopping, keeping in touch with family and friends around the nation, chatting online, and playing scrabble with her grandchildren.  Mavis greatly appreciated the care she received at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.  She gained a deep sense of satisfaction by making wreaths for the residents and many of the staff there. 

Grateful for having shared in her life is her fiancÚ, Conrad Wutsch of Iroquois; and five daughters, Ruth (Keith) Fodness of Castlewood, Sheri Lungstrom of Everett, Washington, Wendy Wochnick of Lynnwood, Washington, Tara Johnson of Arlington, Washington and Suzanne Wochnick of Shoreline, Washington; twelve grandchildren, Alex and Grant Fodness, Stephanie and Joshua Lungstrom, John, Jessica and Kayla Frye, Jarrod Mather, Joey Santiago, Krista Johnson, Jeff Wochnick and Mariah Brown; two great-grandchildren, Bailey Frye and Jayden Imholt; one sister, Maryln (Tom) Nelson of Hansville, Washington; and three brothers, Keith Gleich of Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, Craig (Paula) Gleich of Northampton, England, and Harvey (Peggy) Gleich of Woonsocket.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Dale Gleich.
