A family is a legacy of love, a love that lasts forever.

Marlyn Gabert

Marlyn Gabert, age 60, of Lake Preston, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.  His funeral service was at 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 1st, at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with Rev. George Parmeter officiating.

Marlyn Gabert was born June 2, 1949, to Harvey and Maxine (Ness) Gabert at Watertown, South Dakota. Marlyn entered the South Dakota Development Center at Redfield on February 18, 1953.  He then joined the Huron Area Center for Independence on October 15, 2007, and resided in Lake Preston.

Since being in Lake Preston,  Marlyn had enjoyed parades, picnics, shopping and eating out.   His favorite pastimes were bouncing and playing catch with tennis balls and kicking the soccer ball around.  Marlyn bowled every Friday.  He liked to give fives and hang out with his roommate and a couple of friends living at his apartment complex in Lake Preston.  Marlyn loved to give hugs before bed and also enjoyed sitting outside and looking out the window.  Marlyn also enjoyed his weekly bible class.

Marlyn had the nicest smile, the bluest eyes and was very loveable. He will be greatly missed by all who have come to know and love him.
