Larry D. Clark

Larry D. Clark, age 73, of Huron, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.  His graveside service was Saturday, May 19th,  at 1:00 PM at the Lakeview Cemetery near Lake Andes.

Larry Dean Clark was born January 22, 1934, to Glen and Lena (Lindquist) Clark at Lake Andes.  He grew in Lake Andes, graduated from Lake Andes High School and then attended South Dakota State College.  On December 4, 1952, Larry entered the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War.  He was honorably discharged on December 3, 1956.  Larry then became a relay mechanic for the Bureau of Reclamation.

Larry was a lifetime member of the Huron VFW Post 1776, the American Legion, Grace Episcopal Church, Huron Area Senior Center, and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.  He also enjoyed riding his bicycle.  At one period in his life, he rode twenty-five miles a day around Huron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clifton, John, and James; four sisters, Ruth Barger, Fae Grajkowske, Lois Haber, and Mavis Clark.

Larry is survived by one niece, Sharon (Richard) McEntaffer of Pierre; three nephews, James (Mary) Haber of Renton, Washington, Jason (Chery) Clark of Boise, Idaho, and Gregory Clark of Flagstaff, Arizona; a sister-in-law, Nitaya Clark of Phoenix, AZ ; and several great nieces and great nephews.
