Kay M. Ochsner

Kay M. Ochsner, age 71, of Huron, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at the Huron Regional Medical Center, after a ten-year battle with cancer and stroke.  A private family memorial service was held.  Memorials may be directed to the Beadle County Relay for Life or the Huron Country Club.

Kay Marie Ochsner was born February 11, 1937, at Ellendale, North Dakota to Roy and Leila (Thorn) Clayton.  The family moved to Aberdeen where Kay graduated from Aberdeen Central High School and then attended business school.

On May 24, 1957 she married Frank Ochsner in Aberdeen.  From 1959 to 1974, they lived in Jefferson, Mobridge, and Philip and Mission.  They moved to Winner in 1974 and lived there for twelve years before moving to Huron in 1986.  Kay was a secretary at Trailwood Films in Huron for many years.

Kay’s hobbies included playing golf and bridge. She especially enjoyed traveling with Frank after his retirement, and spending time with her granddaughters.  Her Pekinese dog “Mugsy” was a special source of comfort to Kay during her illness and treatment.

Her parents preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband Frank, of Huron; two sons, Scott (Deb) Ochsner of St. Paul, Minnesota and Steve Ochsner of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and two granddaughters, Amanda and Amy Ochsner.
