Jodi Songer

Jodi Ann Liebnow Songer, age 43, of Wolsey, died Sunday, September 26, 2010, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.  Her funeral service was at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 2nd at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wolsey, with Rev. L. Scott Spiehs officiating.  Burial was in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Jodi Ann Liebnow was born April 17, 1967, at Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Jodi grew up in the Wolsey area and graduated from Wolsey High School in 1986.  She attended Huron University for one year, and then graduated from the cosmetology program at Lake Area Vo-Tech at Watertown.  Jodi worked at Cost Cutters in Sioux Falls for several years.  Jodi later worked in housekeeping at Huron Nursing Home and SunQuest Health Care Center.

On June 4, 1994, Jodi married Don Songer at Wolsey.

Jodi loved going to the stock car races.  She enjoyed collecting holstein cow figurines.

She was preceded in death by infant brother, Roger David and her grandparents.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Donald Songer; one son, Blaine Liebnow; two daughters, Brianna and Nikkita Songer; her parents, Herschel and Doris Liebnow of Wolsey; two brothers, Ronald (Carol) Liebnow of Huron and Rodney (Christy) Liebnow of Wolsey; and one sister, Joyce (Dan) Shudak of Yankton; and many nieces and nephews.

Jodi is also survived by her father-in-law, Melvin Songer of Huron; mother-in-law, Rose (Keith) Songer of Huron; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Duane (Ruth) Songer, Darrell (Kari) Songer, Doug Songer, Brian (Tonya Peterson) Songer and Vickie Songer all of Huron, Tim Songer of Springfield, David (Joni) Tracy of Norfolk, Nebraska, Charlotta Schaffer of Riverton, Wyoming, and Carolyn (Kurt) Wallace of Arlington.
