Jeannice “Jean” (Beck) Iverson

Jeannice Iverson obituary photoJeannice “Jean” (Beck) Iverson, age 71, of Huron, died Friday, January 23, 2009, at Huron Regional Medical Center.  Her memorial service was 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Kuhler Funeral Home with Keith McMillan officiating. 

Jeannice Floriene Beck was born April 5, 1937, in Huron, South Dakota to Chris and Floriene (Hurd) Beck.  She married Darrell “Dee” Iverson of Carpenter, South Dakota on March 18, 1957, in Albany, Oregon.  Following a short stay in South Dakota that summer, they moved to Seattle, Washington in the Fall of 1957.  They lived in the Seattle area until they moved to Port Angeles, Washington in 1976.  They moved back to Huron in 2006 to enjoy their retirement. 

Jean was a very active member in Washington State Horsemen for 43 years and was a 4-H leader for over 35 years helping youngsters with their horse projects.  Jean loved working with the kids and was an avid horsewoman.  She taught horseback riding lessons for several years and enjoyed attending the Clallam County Fair every year since 1976.  In addition to the horses, Jean enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, camping, and spending time with her family.

She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. 

Jean is survived by her husband Dee, of Huron; four children, Michael (Vicky), Tharon (Bunnie), Dar (Noreen) and Wendy (Justin) Peterson, all of Port Angeles, Washington; seven grandchildren, Jamie (Kevin) Richmond, Christine (Mel) Capilitan, Tim Iverson, Travis (Sharon) Peterson, Jesse Thompson, Dustin Iverson and Jordan Iverson; ten great-grandchildren, Allison, Daniel, Dodi, Kyle, Keri, Kelli, and Lydia Richmond and another little Richmond due in April, and granddaughter, Christine is expecting twins in June; two sisters, Kaylene Hammond and Donna Freeman, both of Huron; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.
