Ida Pullman

Ida Pullman, age 91, of Huron, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was 11 AM Friday, September 5th, at the Kuhler Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark LaFreniere officiating.  Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery. 

Ida Becker was born November 4, 1916, to Abraham and Helen (Buller) Becker at Zurick, Montana.  At a young age, she moved with her parents to Onida, South Dakota, where she received her education.  After a year at Sunnyside Bible Academy in Freeman, South Dakota, she worked in Onida and then in Pierre for a short time before  returning to Onida. 

On March 7, 1937, she married Jake Pullman at Onida.  They farmed in the Yale area before moving to Huron where her husband was employed with the Wilson Motor Company.  Ida was employed at various businesses in Huron including Armour Foods, and Bell Motel before attending the Dr. DePalma School of Swedish Massage Therapy.  She practiced as a massage therapist for 25 years. 

She became a Christian at an early age.  In her earlier years she was active in church work at the Wesleyan Church, including teaching Sunday School classes.  A member for more than twenty years, she also served as a pianist.  Ida worked with Child Evangelism under the direction of Elizabeth Tschetter. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jake; and five brothers, Walter, Elmer, Abraham, Art and Wilbert Becker.

Grateful for having shared her life are two brothers, Harry Becker and Lewis Becker both of Huron; one sister, Olga Koehn of Aberdeen; one half-brother, Jim Becker of Phoenix, Arizona; and one half-sister, Carol Campbell of Huron.
