Howard Lentz obituary photoHoward Lentz, age 86, of Huron, died Sunday, August 8, 2010, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.  His funeral service was at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 12th at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kelly Smith officiating.  Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Howard Lentz was born April 10, 1924, to Theodore F. and Elisa M. (Stroth) Lentz at Vienna, South Dakota.  He grew up and attended school at Willow Lake.

On February 9, 1952, Howard married Francella Schinderling at Huron.  Howard was a warehouseman for Park Grant.  He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, roller skating and ice skating.  Howard also liked sightseeing and traveling to visit his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Eugene, Donald and Beryl; one sister, Helen Richardson; and one great-grandson, Tony.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Francella Lentz of Huron; six children; Terry Lentz of Parkston, Kevin Lentz, Lorry (Clark) Risetter, Cheryl Lentz, and Charles (Penny) Lentz all of Huron, and LaRae (Robert) Moreno of Brookings; ten grandchildren, Sherry, Jared, Kristina, Kristopher, Jeff, Jason, Lisa, Amanda, Dillon and Stephanie; eight great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Tia, Ian, Michael, Josalyn, Alex, Wyatt and Fuschia; one brother, Ralph (Margaret) Lentz of Huron; two sisters, Marion Scalia of San Jose, California and Marie Lentz of Mesa, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
