Gloria Eichstadt obituary photoGloria Eichstadt, age 66, of Wolsey, died Sunday, July 8, 2007, at the Huron Nursing Home. Her funeral service was at 10:30 AM Friday, July 13th, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey with the Rev. L. Scott Spiehs officiating. Burial was in the St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Gloria Ann Eckenbarger was born September 9, 1940, at Washington D.C. to Ralph and Ora (Lowery) Eckenbarger. She attended school in the Washington D.C. area, graduating third in her class of 225 from Eastern Senior High School. Gloria also graduated from Huron University with an associate degree in business administration.

On September 22, 1958, Gloria married Ervin Eichstadt at Hillcrest Heights, Maryland. Gloria worked for the United States government in Washington D.C., St. John's Lutheran Church, Huron University, and most recently for the Center for Independence.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, St. John's Ladies Aid, Phi Beta Lambda, and the National Honor Society. Gloria's hobbies and interests were music, movies and shows about Jesus Christ, and her grandchildren.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William Eckenbarger; twin siblings at birth; her mother-in-law, Hertha Eichstadt; and her father-in-law, Otto Eichstadt.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Ervin of Wolsey; one son Gary (Marla) Eichstadt of Wolsey; three daughters, Carol (Ed) Klich of Huron, Gail Eichstadt of Wolsey, and Christa (Jeff) Horn of Wolsey; nine grandchildren, Christopher (Angie) Eichstadt, Gig Eichstadt, Brandon (Kelsey) Hostetter, Bret Eichstadt, Nicole Klich, Angela Klich, Tyler Horn, Tanner Horn, and Taylor Horn; and eight great-grandchildren, Baylie Anderson, Alec Small, Keaton Eichstadt, Kiera Eichstadt, Madilynn Eichstadt, Kaydance Eichstadt, Kia Hostetter, and Hannah Hostetter. Gloria is also survived by a brother-in-law, Ronald (Penny) Eichstadt of Wolsey; and a sister-in-law, Margaret (Marlin) Affeldt of Wykoff, Minnesota.

Gloria passed away Sunday, July 8, 2007, at the Huron Nursing Home, at the age of sixty-six years, nine months, and twenty-nine days.
