Glen LaFee obituary photoGlen LaFee, age 75, of Huron, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at his home.  His funeral service was held at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 12, 2008, at the Grace Episcopal Church with Rev. George Parmeter officiating.  Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with military rites by the Huron Veterans Council.   Memorials may be directed towards HRMC Hospice, Center for Independence or a charity of choice.

Glen E. LaFee was born on July 21, 1932, at Huron to Egbert and Lois (Barrows) LaFee.  He attended school at Huron, graduating from Huron High School in 1950.  Glen then attended Huron College.  On March 4, 1951, Glen entered the United States Air Force.  He was honorably discharged on December 18, 1953. 

On November 28, 1963, Glen married Betty Porath at Huron.

He was a master plumber for Burnison Plumbing and Heating for over thirty years.  Glen was also the east river state plumbing inspector for many years and taught plumbing at Mitchell Vo-Tech for two years.

Glen enjoyed woodworking, reading and playing golf.  Camping was another favorite pastime and he was a charter member of the Beadle Bums Camping Club.  He was also a member of the 40et8, American Legion, VFW and AARP.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Jean Marie in 1996.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Betty of Huron, one son, Scott LaFee of Huron; one grandson, Tyler LaFee of Huron; one sister, Mary Ann (Mike) Gogolin of Huron; two brothers-in-law, Gordon (Judy) Porath of Blackduck, Minnesota, and Russell (Joan) Porath of Watertown; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Haskell of Rapid City and Dee (David) Gill of Blackduck, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
