Forrest Paulson

Forrest L. Paulson, age 79, of Huron, died Thursday, November 30, 2006, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was 2 PM Thursday, December 7th at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. William Holmes officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery with military rites by the Huron Veterans Council.

Forrest Paulson was born on January 18, 1927, at Hitchcock, South Dakota to Fred and Nata (Brown) Paulson. He grew up on a farm near Hitchcock and graduated from Hitchcock High School. In 1945 Forrest entered the Army Air Corps. He returned to Huron in 1947 and attended Huron College, and then graduated from the University of South Dakota. Forrest taught school for several years, and then attended the Northwest College of Commerce. In 1954, he began work with Northwestern Public Service Company in the accounting department. He worked there until his retirement in December 1985.

Forrest married Charlotte Gravett on July 12, 1957, at Huron.

He was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and church treasurer, and had taught Sunday school. He enjoyed reading and traveling.

Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Donald.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte, of Huron; four sons, Rodney (Lisa), of Colman, Clinton (Cathy), of Huron, Jeffrey (Linda), of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Scott (Sharon), of Montevideo, Minnesota; twenty grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, Anna, Matthew, Carissa, Elizabeth, Marisela, Barbara, Juana, Amanda, Erik, Courtney, Benjamin, Laurel, Lily, Linden, Leif, Leighton, Lincoln and Logan; and one great-grandson, Gideon.
