Esther Krueger obituary photo 2Esther M. Krueger, age 98, of Huron died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.  Her funeral service was at 11 AM Thursday, March 20th, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Jonathan Boehne officiating.  Burial was in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. 

Esther was born November 21, 1909, at Wolsey to August and Martha (Bartel) Kahre. She grew up in the Wolsey area and attended country school as well as the St. John’s Lutheran School in Wolsey.  On May 6, 1934 she married Robert Jungemann at Wolsey.  Following their marriage they lived and farmed on the Jungemann family farm.  Robert died in 1962.  Esther married Fred Krueger on August 5, 1973.  They moved to Huron and spent a number of years going south in the winter as well as going to Montana to “hunt agates.”  Fred died in 1994. 

Esther was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Wolsey and was a member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron.  She enjoyed scrapbooking, working in her flower gardens and needlework. 

 She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; three brothers, Arthur, Herbert and Irvin; and two sisters-in-law, Gertrude and Violet.

 Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Jungemann of Huron; her son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Sharon Jungemann of Wolsey; one grandson, Brent Jungemann of Sioux Falls; one brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Gen Kahre of Wolsey; and one sister-in-law, Elaine Kahre of Huron.
