Eric Scotter

Eric Scotter, age 20, of Huron, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at the Huron Regional Medical Center as the result of a farm accident near Wolsey.  His funeral service will be at 11 AM Saturday, February 12th  at the First United Methodist Church in Huron with Rev. Don Crippen officiating.  Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery at Iroquois. The family prefers memorials.

Eric Scotter was born October 2, 1990, to Gary and Sharon (Peterson) Scotter at Huron.  He attended grade school and through the 10th grade in Huron and then transferred to Iroquois High School for his junior and senior years.  He graduated from Iroquois High School in 2009.

Eric was interested in cars and music.  He enjoyed playing baseball and soccer during his grade school years, and middle school football.  While at Iroquois, Eric played the trumpet in the band and was crowned the homecoming king.

He had worked for Rod Liebnow doing farm labor for the past four months.  Before that he had worked at the Crossroads, Fair City Foods and the Plains.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Fred “Gene” Scotter; grandparents, Lloyd and Audrey Peterson; and one uncle, Lloyd Peterson, Jr.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his parents, Gary and Sharon Scotter of Huron; one brother, Brett Scotter of Huron; his grandmother, Shirley Scotter of Huron; six aunts and uncles, Charlotte (Bill) LaCombe of Carson City, Nevada; Susan Berleue of Granbury, Texas, Larry (Sandy) Wickham of Rockford, Illinois, Russ (Claudia) Scotter of Karluk, Alaska, Kenny (Becky) Scotter of Wolsey, and Penny (Brad) Culver of Huron; and many cousins.
