Emma Glanzer obituary photoEmma Glanzer, age 92, of Huron, died Friday, February 11, 2011, at the SunQuest Health Care Center.  Her funeral service was at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 14th, at the Kuhler Funeral Home with Pastor Derek Baum officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery.

Emma Rebecca Glanzer was born March 20, 1918, in Carpenter, South Dakota, to Paul G. and Sarah (Gross) Glanzer. 

Emma grew up in the Carpenter area and received her education at Jefferson School in Milford Township.  She graduated from Yale High School and then attended Northwest College of Commerce. 

Emma began her career in office work at Armour Foods in Huron in 1942, and worked there until she retired in 1984.  She also worked for various other businesses, including grain elevators, sale barns and retail stores. 

Emma was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Samuel, Albert, Edward, Walter, and Clarence; one sister, Sarah Tschetter; one niece, Roslyn Hofer; and two great-nieces.

Grateful for having shared in her life are one sister and brother-in-law, Lena and Eugene Alendal, of Hurley; one sister-in-law, Kathryn Glanzer, of Huron; ten nieces and nephews, Rodney Tschetter of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Roxy Buller of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Ree Tschetter of Windom, Minnesota, Dr. Duane Glanzer of Mission, Delbert Glanzer of Alexandria, Minnesota, Patty Gross of Yale, Penny Glanzer of Huron, Nadine Anderson of Oakland, Nebraska, Jeff Glanzer of Carpenter and Claude Glanzer of Carpenter; thirty-three great-nieces and great-nephews; forty-four great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and seven great-great-great nieces and great-great-great nephews.
