Elaine Fritzsche obituary photoElain Fritzsche, age , of Wessington, died  June 2, 2007, at her home.  Her funeral service was Wednesday, June 6th, at 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Wessington, with Rev. Allen Sager officiating.  Burial was in the Wessington Cemetery.

Beatrice Elaine Ravenscroft was born May 8, 1924, at Huron, South Dakota to Arvy and Clara (Brown) Ravenscroft.  She grew up in Vayland, South Dakota and was known as one of the Vayland girls.  She graduated from Wessington High School in 1942.  On November 30, 1944 she married Edward Fritzsche at the First Presbyterian Church in Huron.  Elaine and Ed spent 54 years together farming and raising their seven children, before retiring and moving to town.

She was a member of the Wessington First Presbyterian Church, the United Presbyterian Women, was a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Wessington Chapter #119, and a past member of the Ever Ready Club.

Elaine enjoyed cooking for her family and making pies.  She loved all pets but especially her cat, Snowball.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty years on June 4, 2005; three sisters, Velda Welbes, Dorothy Stobbs, and Eunice Siegling; six brothers-in-law; one son-in-law, Gus Wilcox; and one daughter at birth, Paula Jo.

Grateful for having shared her life are her seven children, Marilyn Wilcox of Huron, Douglas (Janet) Fritzsche of Miller, Nadine Schorn of Wessington, Roger (Jane) Fritzsche of Wessington, Karen (Bruce) Clarke of Wessington, Sharon (Jeff) Wuestewald of Wessington, and Brenda (Matt) Munson of Estecada, Oregon; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Gard of Miller; two brothers-in-law, Harold (Maxine) Fritzsche of Rapid City and Leonard (LuAnne) Fritzsche of Wessington; and two sisters-in-law, Lois Pierce of Rapid City and Lucille Palmer of Yankton.
