Edward Wipf

Edward A. Wipf, age 77, of Yale, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.  His funeral service was at 6 PM Saturday, October 31st, at the Kuhler Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeremiah Betron officiating.  Burial was in the Black Hills National Cemetery.

Edward Albert Wipf was born December 12, 1931, to Albert and Elizabeth (Gross) Wipf in Liberty Township of Beadle County, South Dakota.  In 1952, he joined the United States Marine Corp and served until 1954 and then served in the Marine reserves from 1954 to 1960.

On November 10, 1955, Edward married Arlene Tschetter at Huron.  They farmed together for 43 years, retiring in 2001.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dale Wipf; two brothers, Herbert and David Wipf; one sister; Sylvia Hofer; and parents-in-law, Paul J.P. and Ann Tschetter.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Arlene of Yale, his daughter, Imogene Lesley of Amarillo, Texas, his son, Darrell Wipf of Cavour; three brothers and their wives, Johnny and Elaine Wipf of Huron, Harry and June Wipf of Huron, and Theodore and Delores Wipf of Weslaco, Texas; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Darlo and Emma Tschetter of Huron and Stanley and Kari Tschetter of Livonia, Michigan; three sisters-in-law, VeAnn Duvall of Virginia Beach, Virginia, LaVonne Kleinsasser of Yankton, and Marilyn and her husband, Lionel Van Nigen of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
