Duane Moody

Duane Moody, age 82, of Huron, died Friday, August 6, 2010, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.  His funeral service was at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 11th at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Marion Cain officiating.  Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery. 

Robert Duane Moody was born July 15, 1928, to John Robert and Thelma (Darland) Moody at Huron, South Dakota.  Duane graduated from Cavour High School in 1946.  In 1950, Duane entered the United States Army and served in Germany during the Korean War.  He came home when his brother, Darold, was killed on November 12, 1951.

On June 1, 1952, Duane married Dolores Rae Currier.  She died November 8, 1983.  Together Duane and Dolores farmed in the Cavour area and served as 4-H leaders for many years.

On June 29, 1985, Duane married Gloria (Anderson) Burger.  She died July 13, 1991.

Duane enjoyed farming.  He served on the Cavour Elevator Board.  Duane also liked playing cards and bowling.  He loved visiting with people where ever he found them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his two wives; one brother, Darold Vernon Moody; and one sister, Thelma, in infancy.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his three children, Bob (Cheryl) Moody of Huron, Susan (Mike) Soppe of Libby, Montana, and Darold (Jeannie Lawler) Moody of Huron; two grandchildren, Shannon (Jeremy) Lusk and Robert Soppe; one step granddaughter, Chris (Scott) Berestoff; one sister, Betty (Perry) Puterbaugh of Huron; and many nieces and nephews.
