Dorothy Searing

Dorothy Searing, age 83, of Huron, died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at her home.  Her funeral service was at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 11th, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Crippen officiating.  Burial was in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Dorothy Jean Osmanson was born February 15, 1928, to Frank and Mabel Helen (Wood) Osmanson at Highmore, South Dakota.  She grew up in the Huron and Wolsey area and then in San Francisco, California during World War II.

On July 16, 1955, Dorothy married Ernest E. Searing in Pipestone, Minnesota.

She enjoyed keeping up on world events and being with family and friends.  Dorothy dearly enjoyed watching four generations of car racers from her father, brother, brother-in-law, son Jim, and grandson Cole.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest, and one great-granddaughter.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her three children, Patrick Patrow of Huron, Jim (Susan) Searing of Huron, and Barbara Linneman of Loveland, Colorado; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob Osmanson of Fresno, California; and one sister, Beverly (Forrest) Hurd of Sonoma, California.
