Delores E. Tilbury

Delores E. Tilbury, age 79, of Huron, died Monday, January 7, 2008, at her residence.  Her funeral service was at 11 AM on Friday, January 11th at the Huron Wesleyan Church with Rev. Robert Theis and Rev. David Crandall officiating. 

Delores was born on October 8, 1928, at Carpenter, South Dakota to Ivan K. and Martha C. (Donner) Wahl.   She grew up in the Carpenter area and attended country school.  In 1948, she married Aloyious Lloyd Miller.  In 1969, she married Clifford Tilbury and he died in 1997.  She lived in Black Canyon City, Arizona, for eighteen years, returning to Huron in 2002. 

Delores enjoyed fishing, traveling and watching sports, especially professional basketball games.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family and the “Breakfast Club.”  She was a member of Diane’s Delicious Damsels chapter of the Red Hat Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a stillborn son, James; two brothers in infancy; a grandson, Troy Crandall; and a son-in-law, Jim Yungwirth.

Grateful for having shared her life are her seven children, Phillip (Judy) Miller of Huron, Aloyious (Luz) Miller of San Diego, California, Marcella “Marcie” Yungwirth of Redfield, Mike Miller of Huron, Pat (Diane) Miller, Kansas City, Missouri, Kelly (Darrell) Brobst of Biloxi, Mississippi, and Donald Miller of Wichita, Kansas; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Margie Serbick of Huron; and several nieces and nephews.
