Danny Achuff obituaryDanny Achuff, age 63, of Huron, died Saturday, August 25, 2012, at his home, from complications from brain cancer.  His memorial service was at 7:30 PM, Wednesday, August 29th, at the Kuhler Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Holland officiating.  A Masonic service followed. 

Danny Edward Achuff was born April 5, 1949, to Kenneth and Gladys (Beranek) Achuff at Oak Park, Illinois.  His family later moved to Burlington, Wisconsin, where Danny started school at Winkler Elementary, then junior high, and then Burlington High School where he excelled in wrestling, football, track and baseball.

After high school, aviation became a big part of his life, learning to fly a P51 Mustang and owned and operated an FBO in Lone Rock, Wisconsin.  He also taught flying and ran a freight service.

Danny then went into the printing industry and traveled the country going to Georgia, upstate New York, back to Wisconsin and then Florida.  He enjoyed working as a Bindery Manager.  In 2001, Danny started working for Walmart in Arkansas.  He later transferred to Huron and then to Wisconsin to be near family.  In Huron, he owned and operated Grace Judgment Recovery.

In January 2010, Danny was diagnosed with brain cancer and friends asked him to move back to Huron. 

After a forty year search, Danny was reunited with his high school sweetheart and soul mate, Sandy Kay Harrison.

Danny enjoyed flying airplanes and fishing.

Danny was a DeMolay member growing up, and was later a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge #16 at Lone Rock, Wisconsin, and recently joined the Masonic Lodge in Huron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Dennis Achuff.

Danny is survived by his soul mate, Sandy Harrison of Huron; two children, Traci Lee (Scott) Rose and Jason Achuff, both of Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Lynn Diane and Ron Gebel of Burlington, Wisconsin; one brother, Kenneth William Achuff of Oxnard, California; many nieces and great nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
