Clifford Wipf

Clifford Wipf, age 73, of Huron, died Saturday, February 12, 2011, at the SunQuest Health Care Center.  His funeral service was at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 15th, at the Mt. Olivet Church with Rev. David Erdman officiating.  Burial was in the Ideal Cemetery, with military rites by the Huron Veterans Council. 

Clifford Wipf was born April 14, 1937, to Sam and Lydia (Tschetter) Wipf at Huron.  He grew up in the Huron area and graduated from Huron High School.  In 1956, Cliff entered the United States Army stationed in Alaska.  He was honorably discharged in 1958.  Upon his return, Cliff worked at Armour and Company for nearly 30 years. He then worked as a custodian at the Huron Clinic for a couple of years.

On July 7, 1963, Cliff married Corinne Gange at Huron.

Cliff enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing and camping.  He also liked spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters, Ruby Kleinsasser, Evelyn Maass, Anne Friesen, and Katherine Wipf in infancy.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his son, Derek Wipf of Huron; two grandchildren, Ashlyn and A.J. (Anthony) Wipf of Huron; Corinne Wipf of Huron; four sisters, Lilly Kern of Olivia, Minnesota, Susie Pullman of Huron, Lorraine Kleinsasser of Wessington and Betty (Claire) McBride of Huron; four brothers, Ferd Wipf of Huron, John Wipf of Scottsdale, Arizona, Sam Wipf of Huron, and Peter (Cheryl) Wipf of Nickelsville, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.
