Clara Saboe

Clara May Saboe, age 97, of Huron, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at her home.  Her funeral service was at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 9th at the Huron Mission Church with Rev. Richard Birr officiating.  Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to HRMC Hospice or Gideons International.

Clara May Oster was born October 3, 1913, to Joseph and Margaret (Murley) Oster at Valley, Nebraska.  The family moved to Huron when Clara was a young child.

On December 14, 1936, Clara married LeRoy Saboe.  They moved to Washington in 1953.  LeRoy died October 1984.  Clara and her daughter, Elaine, moved back to Huron in 1985.

Clara enjoyed homemaking, church activities, telecare volunteering, senior center activities including Bible studies, and visiting the sick on a regular basis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy; two brothers, Joseph and John; two sisters, Mary and Margaret; and five step-siblings.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her daughter, Elaine Saboe of Huron; son, Dwane (Sandi) Saboe of Huron; two granddaughters, Debbie (Mike) Lehmen of Huron and Lisa (Lew) Koch of Aberdeen; four great-grandchildren, Anna and Samuel Koch and Jessica and Colton Lehmen; and one sister, Vivian VanVleet of Oregon.
