Carol Hill obituary photo adjustedCarol Hill, age 88, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at her home in Wessington. Her memorial service was 10:30 AM Saturday, March 31st at the First Presbyterian Church in Wessington with Rev. Allen Sager officiating. Committal of her cremated remains was at 4 PM Saturday, March 31st at the Wessington Cemetery, in rural Wessington.

Alice Carol Hulbert was born in Wessington, South Dakota on February 20, 1919 to Ralph and Mabel (Crumb) Hulbert. She resided all her years in the Wessington area. On Oct 20, 1937, she married Clinton Harold Hill in Redfield South Dakota. They resided on a small farm south of Wessington until their retirement in 1976. Born to this marriage were five children: Roger, Margaret (Peggy), twin sons Terry and Gary, and Jan. She also raised her grandson, Jeff Sirvas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold; two children, Peggy Hill Sirvas and Gary Hill; her grandson, Beau Gutormson; and two brothers, Bruce and Richard Hulbert.

She is survived by two sons, Roger (Trudy) Hill of Tyndall, and Terry Hill of Vermillion; one daughter, Jan (Mike) Gutormson of Whitehall, Montana; the grandson, whom she raised, Jeff (Susan) Sirvas of Bloomer, Wisconsin, two sisters, Beatrice Frank, of Huron, and Erdene Dopps of Seattle Washington; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
