Burnice Fast

Burnice Fast, age 87, of Huron, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at SunQuest Health Care Center.  Her funeral service was at 10 AM Monday, at the Kuhler Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Plett officiating.  Burial was in the Ideal Cemetery. 

Burnice Fast was born November 25, 1921, at Huron, to David and Lydia (Stahl) Fast.  She lived at home several years helping her parents.  She especially loved to bake pies.  After her parents were unable to care for her, she stayed at various homes in the community.  While in a care facility in Mitchell in the mid-1990s, Burnice suffered a stroke which left her speechless.  In April 1995, she became a resident of SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron, where she resided for the remainder of her days and received excellent care.

She was a member of Bethesda Church of Huron. 

Burnice was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Ethel Hofer; a brother Ben; and an infant brother buried in Mora, Minnesota.

She leaves behind two brothers, Wesley and his wife Genevieve, of Iroquois, and Robert and his wife Myrna, of Yale, and many nieces and nephews.
