Pete Mies -- What a joy it was to have a friend like Pete. Doing business with him at John Deere was always interesting because we would always get off the subject as his world was a big one. He was far more of a philosopher than he would let on to be but always someone I looked forward to visiting about the issues of the time. He talked often about his family and the legacy he hoped to leave for others. Pete - a very good man. Harvey Wollman

Marilyn and family: Pete was a good friend to my father. Pete and I always talked about machinery and I could never convince him that the best “color” of iron was CAT yellow!  He loved machinery, farming and his farm customers.
