Dale H. Hedlund
Dale Hedlund, age 83, of Huron, died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. His graveside service and burial was at 10 AM Tuesday, March 10th at the Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Steven Brandsrud officiating.
Dale Hedlund was born September 18, 1925, to Ray and Lillie (Fenner) Hedlund at rural Iroquois. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Cavour High School in 1943.
After graduating from Northwest Business College, he worked in Civil Service for more than thirty years at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City. Dale moved to Sioux Falls after his retirement and lived there for fifteen years before moving to Huron in 1995.
He was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Huron.
Survivors include his brother, Bryce (June) Hedlund of Marietta, Georgia; his sister, Corrine Stevenson of El Cajon, California; and seven nieces and nephews, Joel (Janet) Hedlund, Shane (Lisa) Hedlund, Kathy Vorman, Stewart (Andrea) Stevenson, Scott (Susan) Stevenson, Bruce (Susan) Wintle, and Regie Rae (John) Bradford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister and brother-in-law, John and Ione (Hedlund) Wintle.
