Beverly Peterson was born May 15, 1931, in Wolsey, to Ralph and Ethel (Harrington) Peterson. She grew up in Wolsey and attended school there. She married Floyd Brotherton on May 31, 1963, at Huron. They lived in Miller and Iroquois before moving to Wolsey, where the spent most of their married life. She was a member of the Wolsey Baptist Church and had been a member of the Wolsey Senior Center. She was a member of the Huron Area Senior Center and lived in the apartments there for four years. Beverly was a Chicago Bulls fan and enjoyed watching their basketball games. She liked to do crossword puzzles and baked delicious cakes and cookies. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd on October 18, 1983; a son, Jim Leachman on July 5, 1984, and a brother, Max in infancy. She is survived by her children, Cindy (Mike) Johnson, of Huron, Lloyd Brotherton, of Wolsey, Una Mae (Paul) Hofer, of Wolsey, George Brotherton, of Redfield, Mike (Myrna) Leachman, of Huron, Carol Ann Hubert, of Warner Robins, Georgia; her step-children, Wyatt (Sheila) Brotherton, of Huron, Jon (Wendy) Brotherton, of Pierre, and Millie Steffeson, of San Diego, California; twenty-two grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leon (Audrey) Peterson, of Wolsey and Russ (Marilyn) Peterson, of Sioux Falls; and two sisters, Bonnie Guimont of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and Gayle (Allen) Schroder, of Huron, an aunt, Eunice Quiram, of Huron; and a sister-in-law, Flossie McMurtry, of St. Lawrence. |
