|
Betty Boone was born March 21, 1941, to Elmer and Thelma (Anderson) Boone at Carol, Iowa. She graduated from Huron High School in 1959. On April 15, 1961, Betty married Norman “Jack” Barnes at Huron. In 1968, they moved to their farm west of Huron. Betty was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene where she was the church secretary and a steward on the church board. She was also a daycare provider for her granddaughters and a few neighbor kids for many years. She enjoyed writing letters and sending cards, playing cards and tending to her beautiful flower beds. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Grace Curry. Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Jack Barnes of Wolsey; one son, Kenneth and his wife, Lisa Barnes of Williamsburg, Virginia; one daughter, Kaelene and her husband, Jim Borkowski of Wolsey; four grandchildren, Kira and Janie Borkowski and Daniel and Brandy Barnes; one brother, Robert and his wife, Barbara Boone of Vermillion; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Curry of Emmetsburg, Iowa; and her beloved dog, Chico.
