Hofer, age 91, of Huron, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.  Her funeral service was at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at the Congregational United Church of Christ Church with the Rev. Brian Grover officiating.  Burial was in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.    Memorials may be directed to the Congregational United Church of Christ Church. 

Ann was born March 18, 1917, near Emmet, North Dakota.  She graduated from DeSmet High School in 1934.  She married Dr. Emil A. Hofer on June 27, 1940 in Dracola, South Dakota. 

They lived in Iroquois for a brief time before moving to Howard in 1941.  In 1950 they moved to Huron.

Ann is survived by her children, Marilyn (Sherman) Loken o f Canadian Lakes, Michigan, Ronald (Susan) Hofer of Moorseville, North Carolina; four grandsons, Brian (Sandy) Loken of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Robert (Meagan) Loken of Orion Twp., Michigan,  Mark (Yuri) Hofer of Sacramento, California, and Scott Hofer of Greensboro, North Carolina;  six great-grandchildren;  one brother, Howard Hodges, of Winston, Oregon;  two sisters-in-law, Josie Hodges of Sioux Falls and Bernice Hodges of Biggs, California; and several  nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and three brothers.
