Alice Scheidegger

Alice Scheidegger, age 77, of Huron, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at her residence.  Her funeral service was at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 2nd at the Bonilla Presbyterian Church with Janice Palmer officiating.  Burial was in the Bonilla Cemetery.

Alice was born October 6, 1932, at Bonilla, South Dakota, to Walter and Minnie (Miller) Parkinson.  She grew up at Bonilla and graduated from high school there in 1950.  On June 4, 1950, Alice married Art Scheidegger at Bonilla.  Following their marriage they farmed in the Broadland area.  Alice was active in the Bonilla Presbyterian Church, serving in the Presbyterian Women and teaching Sunday school.  She was also active in the Bonilla American Legion Auxiliary.  In 1988, Alice moved to Huron.  She enjoyed gardening, knitting, counted cross-stitch, sewing and reading.

Survivors include her son, Donovan (Joan) Scheidegger of Huron,  her daughter, Deloris Watts of Worthing, South Dakota; four grandchildren, Adam Scheidegger of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Megan Scheidegger of Huron, Sarah (Josh) Plagmann of Alexandria, South Dakota, Jessica (Cody) Sargent of Colton, South Dakota; three great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Carter, Wyatt Plagmann and Hunter Sargent; one brother, Alvin (Rose Marie) Parkinson of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Helen Scheidegger of Huron and Dorothy (Lyle) Lien of Hillsboro Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Art; two brothers, Harry and Robert; and one sister, Evelyn Tipton.
