Adeline Kuper obituary photoAdeline Kuper, age 97, of Huron, died Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.  Her funeral service was 11:00 AM Saturday, September 13th at the Huron Mission Church with the Rev. Richard Birr officiating.  Burial was in the Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the Huron Mission Church, Violet Tschetter Memorial Home, Huron Public Library, Gideons International, or a charity of the donor's choice.

Adeline Walter was born September 5, 1911, Paul J. R. and Katherina (Hofer) Walter near Bridgewater, South Dakota.  She attended Milford Rural School.  Upon confession of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, she was baptized May 16, 1932 by Rev. Joseph M Hofer.

Adeline married Julius Deckert at her parents’ farm on January 5, 1938.  They farmed in Beadle County until his death on October 9, 1954.  Adeline then moved to Huron where she was employed as a housekeeper and babysitter.  She married John Kuper on May 3, 1960.

Adeline enjoyed reading her Bible, embroidery, sewing, working word search puzzles, and gardening.  She was a member of the Huron Mission Church.  Adeline entered the Violet Tschetter Memorial home on January 29, 2003.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; eight brothers, Paul, Joe, John, Sam, Jacob, Edwin, Melvin and Clifford; four sisters, Dorothy “Dora”, Katie, Mary and Ann; five sisters-in-law, Susie, Dorothy, Amelia, Susan and Joyce; one brother-in-law, Adolf; and one niece.

She is survived by her daughter, Eileen A. Deckert of Huron; one brother, Mike Walter of Huron; one sister-in-law, Susie Walter of Huron; and several nieces and nephews.
