Kenneth Wallmann obituary photo1Kenneth Wallmann, age 76, of Huron, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at the Sanford Hospice Cottage at Sioux Falls.  His funeral service was at 10:30AM, Thursday, July 11th at Bethesda Church with Rev. Roy Burket, officiating.  Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Huron Veterans Council.  Kenneth had requested that all memorials given will go to The Navigators Association for the support of Ty and Elisha Ford. 

Kenneth Lawrence Wallmann was born October 23, 1936, to Frank F. and Sarah (Tschetter) Wallmann.  He grew up in the Carpenter and Yale area and spent most of his life in Beadle County.

He entered in the United States Army in 1955,  Kenneth served as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division for three years, spending 26 months in Germany.  He was a Star Route Mail Carrier for 34 years and served as the state president for several years as well as serving as the state’s delegate to the National Conventions.  He also did some farming and trucking.

On July 26, 1959, Kenneth married Evelyn A. Tschetter at Freeman.  They made their home in Huron.  Kenneth was baptized upon the confession of his faith and was presently a member of the Bethesda Church of Huron.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Sarah Wallmann; his step-mother, Susie Wallmann; one brother, Raymond Wallman; two sisters, Gloria Wipf and Helen Wipf; one sister-in-law, Jan Wallman; and two brothers-in-law, David Kleinsasser and John Wipf.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Evelyn of Huron; two daughters, Twila (Jim Ford) Wallmann of Sioux Falls and Skyla (Phil LaGreca) Wallmann of San Diego, California; two grandsons, Ty (Elisha) Ford of Janesville, Wisconsin and Gunner Ford of Sioux Falls; two sisters, Susann Kleinsasser of Sioux Falls and Rose (Harlan) Tschetter of Hitchcock; one brother, Willard Wallman of Huron; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Wallman of Huron; one brother-in-law, Ferd Wipf of Huron; and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
