 Elsie Ambrosious

               

      Elsie Disney was born  January 31, 1922, to Clarence William and Elsie Delilah (Linn) Disney in Huron.   She grew up in Huron and  attended Huron public schools.  Elsie  graduated from Huron High School in 1941.

 Elsie moved to California to do war industry  work after graduation from high school.  She was married to Gail Ambrosius  on June 12, 1942, in Glendale, California. After Gail was drafted, Elsie  returned to Huron to live during his time in the service.  She worked in  food service at Washington Elementary School  for nineteen years, and worked at Raven Industries for several years.

 Elsie was an active volunteer at the Huron  Area Senior Center for many years, was a member of A.A.R.P., Degree of Honor,  and U.C.T.  Elsie was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, a member of 8 et  40, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over sixty years.   She sang with the American Legion Auxiliary Chorus and with Choraleers, the   choral group that traveled to Washington, D.C. from Huron.  Elsie was a  lifetime member of First United Methodist Church of Huron.  She enjoyed  quilting and crafts.

 She is survived by three daughters, Pam  Guilliams, of Huron, Shirley (Mil) Schliemann, of Beavercreek, Ohio, and Bev  Ambrosius, of Omaha, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Michael (Carrie) Guilliams,  Andrew Guilliams, Tony Guilliams, Tracy  (Marlin) Burcham, Martyn (Sarah) Schliemann, and Matthew Schliemann; six  great-grandchildren, Kaylin and Rebecca Burcham, Jordan Guilliams, Maguire  Schliemann, Derek Guilliams, and one on the  way as of July 19, 2006; one brother, Dale C. Disney, of Prescott, Arizona; two  sisters, Ellamae (Clifford) Moore, of Sun City, Arizona, and Dorothy Martel, of  Bismarck, North Dakota; one brother-in-law, Gilbert Andersen, of Jamestown,  North Dakota; and  numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

      She was  preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gail, on July 31, 1976; and her  sister, Ruth Andersen.
